150 police, 43 other uniformed services personnel selected for Anna Medals by TN Govt

CHENNAI: On the occasion of the birth anniversary of former Chief Minister CN Annadurai, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin, has ordered the awarding of the CM’s Anna Medals to 193 officers and personnel from various uniformed services for their outstanding devotion to duty.

This year, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Anna Medal will be presented to 150 Police Officers/Personnel from the rank of Head Constable to Superintendent of Police, 22 Fire and Rescue Service Personnel/Officers from the rank of Fireman to Deputy Director, 10 Prisons and Correctional Services Personnel/Officers from the rank of Grade-I Warder to Assistant Jailor, 5 Home Guards Officers/personnel from the rank of Assistant Platoon Commander to Company Commander, 2 Officers from Finger Print Science Unit in the rank of Additional Superintendent of Police and 4 Officers/Personnel of Forensic Science in recognition of their Outstanding Devotion to Duty.

Further, the Chief Minister has also ordered award of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Fire Services Medal for Gallantry (Anna Medal) to  S.Mayilraju, Assistant District Officer, Fire and Rescue Services, Dindigul District,  A.Punitharaju, Leading Fireman-6610 (Special Station Officer), Dindigul Fire and Rescue Services Station, Dindigul District for their bravery and dedication to duty for safely rescued 32 patients who were trapped in a fire accident reported at the City Hospital, Trichy Road, Dindigul on 12.12.2024 and shifted them to a nearby Government Hospital eventhough the rescue operation was challenging and extremely dangerous and to  M. Rajasekar, Fireman 11066, Sholavandan Fire and Rescue Services Station, Madurai District for his bravery and dedication to duty for safely rescued a 17 year old boy by courageously jumped into the river risking his own life, who drowned accidently in the Vaigai river on Kallazhagar Vaigai River entry festival at Sholavandan in Madurai District on 12.05.2025 and has given first aid before transporting the boy by a two-wheeler to the Sholavandan Government Hospital.

These Medals will be presented by the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu at a Ceremonial Medal Parade to be held

in due course.
