SHIMLA: On Monday, the Himachal Pradesh single window clearance and monitoring authority, approved 28 new project proposals for setting up industrial enterprises and expanding existing units.
The meeting was chaired by chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
These projects entail a proposed investment of over Rs 1,734 crore and are expected to generate employment for approximately 5,388 people, a government press release said.
During the meeting, Sukhu emphasised the importance of including skill-wise employment details in each proposal and called for focused efforts to attract labour-intensive and environmentally friendly industries, particularly in the IT, ITeS, and tourism sectors.
Sukhu also directed officials to review the current lease transfer rates in the industrial areas and suggested framing a conversion policy for industrial plots located in inner areas.
Industries Minister Harshwardhan Chauhan, Chief Secretary Sanjay Gupta, Additional Chief Secretary, Industries R.D. Nazeem, Secretaries Priyanka Basu Ingty and Rakhil Kahlon, Director of Industries Yunus and other senior officers also attended the meeting.
