NEW DELHI: The NDA government at the Centre has decided to establish the National Security Guard’s seventh hub near Ram temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
Addressing the troops and senior officials of the NSG on the occasion of the force’s raising day in New Delhi on Tuesday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the hub will ensure NSG troops availability round the clock.
Praising NSG troops and senior officials for their service, Shah said, “The NSG has implemented the mantra of security at all places and all times on the ground since 1984 and has faced with bravery several threats to national security. The entire country is proud of its bravery and efforts.”
“The Modi government is also going to make major changes to the work of the NSG in the coming days. Six hubs have already been established – in Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, and Jammu. A new hub is also going to be built in Ayodhya. NSG personnel will be deployed and available here 24 hours a day. This force will be on standby in six zones across the country,” Shah further explained.
The Ram temple in Ayodhya has attracted crores of pilgrims to the town in the Faizabad district, prompting increased security measures by the state and the central government. The state’s Special Security Force (SSF) is also deployed on the temple premises, while the airport, which primarily serves pilgrims entering and exiting the city, is guarded by the Central Industrial Security Force.
