CM Stalin inaugurates, lays foundation stone of major development projects across state

CHENNAI: Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Monday virtually inaugurated mega food parks in Villupuram and Theni districts. While the one in Tindivanam, spread over 157 acre, has been set up at Rs. 120 crore, the one at Theni is spread over 123 acres and has been established at Rs. 70 crore.

He also virtually inaugurated 16 creches established in industrial parks by the SIPCOT. They are located in Bargur, Cuddalore, Gangaikondan, Gummidipoondi, Hosur, Manamadurai, Nilakottai, Oragadam, Perundurai, Pillaipakkam, Pudukkottai, Ranipet, Siruseri, Thervoykandigai, Thoothukudi, and Vallam-Vadagal.

Stalin opened Aran Illams — homes for transpersons established in Shenoy Nagar in Chennai and in Anna Nagar in Madurai at Rs. 43 lakh. He also inaugurated buildings constructed for government law colleges in Madurai and Vellore at a total cost of Rs. 55 crore.

Under the Department of Law, the CM unveiled the newly built academic and administrative blocks constructed at the Government Law College in Madurai. It is built within the cost of Rs 48.20 crore. The library building has been constructed with ground plus two floors at the Government Law College, Vellore, worth Rs 6.46 crore.

He also inaugurated four completed tourism development projects worth Rs 7.46 crore at Jawadhu Hills (Tiruvannamalai District), Ponnaniyar Dam (Karur District), and Kolli Hills (Namakkal District), aimed at upgrading these tourist destinations to international standards under the Department of Tourism, Culture, and Religious Endowments. Furthermore, he laid the foundation stone for five new tourism spots estimated at Rs 16.30 crore.

During another event in the Secretariat, the Chief Minister opened four tourism infrastructure projects at Jawadhu Hills in Tiruvannamalai district, the Ponnaniyar dam in Karur district, and Kollimalai in Namakkal district. He also unveiled the foundation for five new projects to be implemented at a cost of Rs. 16 crore. He also unveiled the foundation for five projects to be implemented at a cost of Rs. 43 crore at four temples under the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department. He also inaugurated 27 completed projects in seven temples implemented at a cost of Rs. 48 crore.

Ministers Duraimurugan, P. Geetha Jeevan, R. Rajendran, P.K. Sekarbabu and T.R.B. Rajaa; Chief Secretary N. Muruganandam and senior officials participated during these events in the Secretariat.

In a social media post, Stalin paid tributes to late freedom fighter and Gandhian Sankaralinganar and hailed his contributions towards naming the State as Tamil Nadu.
